[livejournal.com profile] beckaandzac is struggling to finish her Jonas Brothers Big Bang fic off, so I wrote this fic to cheer her on/reward her/make her happy, whatever. Also because she gave to charity, I guess. But let's pretend it's mostly for moral support.

Going to the Dogs
Jonas Brothers/Supernatural RPF gen. Kevin Jonas, Danneel Harris, and some Jensen and Jared. I did not work in background Joe/Nick :( But it's totally there. SECRETLY. Anyway, this is just 1000 words of Kevin and Danneel meeting over dogs and Jensen's life being HARD.

Kevin Jonas loves his dog.

Like, some people love their children, and Kevin totally would love his children, but he doesn't have any yet, so he has all this love that he's not using! And right now, he has his dog, so that love doesn't go to waste.

So yeah, Riley is awesome and Kevin is a totally awesome doggy daddy! He gets her pretty clips for her hair and feeds her and walks her and gives her all the cuddles she could ever want.

So it's really hard when another dog starts bullying her at the dog park.

"Hey!" Kevin calls, waving his arms at the dog. At least it's a tiny dog, not one of those big dogs that could use Riley like a chew toy. Kevin is very worried about those. He doesn't want his baby being used like a chew toy. "Hey, dog, stop!"

"Relax," says a woman's voice. "They're just playing."

Kevin looks around and finds the woman who's talking. She has red hair and big sunglasses and she's smiling at him like she's smarter than him. He knows that look; that's how Nick looks at him.

"He's hurting her!" Kevin protests.

The woman raises her eyebrows behind her sunglasses, looking at the dogs. Kevin follows her eyeline, and he sees the dogs rolling around together. They don't look unhappy. "Yeah," says the woman dryly. "That looks pretty serious."

"Well, he was," says Kevin, pouting. "You don't understand, Riley gets all the love that is potential child love in me!"

The woman's eyebrows go higher. "You're--" she starts, and then smirks. "You're one of those Jonas Brothers, aren't you," she says. Kevin is pretty sure that wasn't what she was planning to say. But it's always nice to meet a fan.

"That's right!" says Kevin. "I'm Kevin! I'm the wacky one," he confesses.

"I bet you are," says the woman, sounding amused.

She looks kind of familiar, but Kevin can't place her, and he feels bad. Most pretty women in LA look kind of familiar, so maybe he isn't even supposed to know who she is. But he still feels bad. Kevin wishes he knew each and every one of his fans by name, so he could be best friends with all of them!

"Did you want an autograph?" he asks gently.

The woman laughs, but it's not mean. Not like Nick. "Yeah, that'd be great. Just make it out to Jen. If you can say lots of love or something, that would be great. Maybe draw some flowers and hearts."

Kevin nods, glad he always carries a lot of Jonas Brothers promotional pictures around, in case this happens. "Um, I can do that, but you know I'm married, right? You seem really nice, Jen, and I'm glad your dog isn't a mean bully, but--"

Jen laughs again. "No, no, it's not for me. Jen's a friend of mine. She's a huge fan of yours." She extends her hand. "I'm Danneel."

"Oh, that's almost my wife's name! Her name's Danielle." He finishes the autograph off. It says, Dear Jen: I'm married, but if I wasn't, I would love to maybe go on a date with you! Keep on listening and we love you. ♥ ♥ ♥ Kevin.

Danneel looks thrilled. "This is perfect," she says, with a huge smile. "Jen's going to be thrilled."

Kevin beams. "No problem. I'm always happy to meet fans! We come here every day, so maybe we'll see you and your doggy again. She's a cutie."

"He," Danneel says, leaning down to scratch behind her dog's ears. "His name's Icarus."

Kevin kneels down too, letting Icarus sniff him. "Aww, he's adorable!" He scoops up Riley and lets her lick his face. "Did you make a friend, honey? Yes you did, yes you did!" He looks back at Danneel. "They should have play dates! Riley loves play dates. She has them all the time with her friends from day care."

"You really take this dog parenting thing seriously, huh," says Danneel. Kevin's not sure her eyebrows have gone down this whole conversation.

"You would love my brother Nick," Kevin says. "He's the cute one."

Danneel laughs. "Maybe we'll run into you guys again sometime."

"Yeah!" says Kevin. "And tell Jen I'm really sorry I'm married, except I love my wife a lot."

She smiles. "Yeah, I'll be sure and let her know."

*

Jensen is only marginally awake as he stumbles into the makeup trailer, nodding at Jared--who is, of course, already talking ten miles a minute and guzzling candy like it's his job.

Sometimes Jensen hates Jared.

He slumps down in his own chair and it takes him a disturbingly long time to figure out that he's not actually looking at his own face.

He's looking at a picture of--well, if the label is to be believed, it's the Jonas Brothers. And it's personalized.

He turns around, and of course Jared is already watching, and grinning, and as soon as he meets Jensen's eyes, he starts laughing.

Jensen waits for the laughing to end.

"Dude, I can't believe you bothered to get me a Jonas Brothers autograph. What is wrong with you?"

"Hey, I'm just the messenger," says Jared, holding up his hands. He's still grinning. "Your wife sent it and figured I'd know what to do with it. Apparently she bothered to get you a Jonas Brothers autograph."

Jensen instantly feels way better. "Well, she loves me."

Jared looks affronted. "How come when she does it, she loves you, and when I do it there's something wrong with me?"

"Because I'm married to her, dumbass." He grabs his phone and to send a text. thanks for the pic, honey. he sure is dreamy. which one is he?

The response is prompt and simple. the wacky one. A second later, it's followed by, you better like him, because I think our dogs are dating now.

icarus has a girlfriend? Jensen texts. I don't approve.

we're gonna be grandparents. be proud!!

It's followed by a picture of Danneel and a Jonas Brother--the wacky one, apparently--with their dogs. The Jonas Brother is giving the camera a big thumbs up.

I don't know you anymore, Jensen texts back.

But he still puts the picture up on the wall, because, well, Danneel sent it. He doesn't need much more reason than that.

"Oh god, you like them, don't you," says Jared, leaning over his shoulder. "You totally do. You think they're dreamy."

"Shut up," Jensen says, unable to keep a grin off his face. "That's my dog's future in-laws you're talking about."
