Basically, I was thinking the other day about how, in J2 AUs that take place in America/a pretty much normal-life setting, I am surprised if Jared and Jensen are not from Texas. Which, given the kinds of random things I happily accept in AUs (Jared is a hooker! Jensen is an ice-cream-truck driver!), is totally irrational, and it's not like it takes away from my enjoyment, I just kind of go, "Oh, how odd!" and move on.
So I was wondering what kinds of personality traits/non-AU facts you like to see in J2 AUs, or what things you try to keep in your own J2 AUs, if you write them. Not for any particular reason, I'm just curious!
I would hope this goes without saying, but please don't say stuff like "I HATE WHEN PEOPLE WRITE JENSEN LIKE IN THIS STORY IT IS SO OOC." This isn't about pinpointing fics you think are doin' it wrong or anything like that.
