renjifan tagged me for this five favorite fanfics meme. And I was like "That looks fun!" And then a few minutes later I was like "...that also looks kind of familiar, hmm." And I realized that I did it in August. But, being as it was August, this was before I'd written any real RPS. I thought it was also before I'd written any Supernatural, but I'd actually already written, like, six Supernatural fics by that time, so clearly the insanity was already beginning. What I'm saying is that my fanfic tag on my regular LJ has only been used 57 times, and at least twenty of those were for Supernatural fic, so taking out Supernatural removes a whole lot of my fanfic production of the last few years.
So, this is our Supernatural/RPS edition of the Five Favorites meme. Shout-out to Still He Offers the Sea Shell, which I wrote after the last time I did this meme, but is not Supernatural.
Sometimes it's ok to pimp yourself out. Post a list of your top five fic-favorites you've written, regardless of fandom or the reason you love them. This isn't about the BEST things you've written, but what you LOVE most.
1. I'm Sticking With You (Jared/Jensen, PG-13)
This is pretty much just dialogue, which I like! It's very short and very stupid and I really enjoy it. Also, using the transitive property to prove having sex with Bon Jovi is something I approve of.
2. Alternate Versions (Dean/Sam, NC-17)
BLOOD OF VIRGIN has amused me for years, so that plus wincest? A+ in my book! Seriously, I'm really glad I finally got to use my dad's scarring porno stories. Next up: Debbie Does Dallas, the J2 AU!
3. And Still So Many Things I Want To Say (Gen)
I was torn between this and The Marrying Kind, because they're my two favorite of my more serious fics. But I like this one better. Possibly because I love weechesters. I'm good with that.
4. Arguing on the Internet Is Like... (Jared/Jensen, NC-17)
For all I love AUs (and I love me some AUs!), I almost always find I prefer non-AU. And this was kind of different for me (well, not that different, but whatever) and I enjoyed doing it a lot. This is really unenlightening commentary. I dunno, I like when I think of something, and I start plotting it out, and then it goes down on the paper (...computer screen?) and comes out how I wanted it to. Which does not always happen! But it did here. Yeah.
5. I'm Ready to Change My Facebook Relationship Status If You Are (Jared/Jensen, R)
If not for this fic, I might not be in J2 fandom at all. At least, not as a writer. Okay, it probably would have happened eventually with how much I was reading, but the college AU turned out to be a pretty good gateway in because I enjoyed it, I was happy to do more of it, and people seemed to like it. Which, I won't lie, is a factor for me! Anyway, I was happy with my characterization here, my retardation, and my excessive use of ecards, and all-in-all, I like it a lot. It's very close to my heart.
...as I was doing this, I found I was happy with a lot of my fics! Like, I had trouble narrowing it down to these five. That was unexpected and kind of cool.
